The WEC is a service that aims to connect all members before, during, and after their experience by providing them with access to benefits. The WEC also provides support and resources to members/NGOs/organizations/volunteers and staff. Member benefits may take the form of opportunities for members to connect through forums provided by the WEC, or be resources specific to your type of membership.
To be a member of the WEC, you must agree to the membership terms and conditions. The membership terms and conditions may be amended at any time by giving a notice of more than 14 days before the effective date of the change (by email or notification to a membership account) and posting the said amendment on the WEC website. Amendments to the membership terms apply to each member. Post amendment of the membership terms, continued membership will be taken as implied agreement to the said amendment(s). If a member does not agree with any of the amendment(s), they can terminate their membership by giving a written notice of termination.
Eligibility and Applying for Membership
To apply for membership, you must meet the eligibility criteria mentioned on the WEC website, complete the membership application, pay the application fee (if applicable), and agree to the membership terms. To assess your eligibility criteria, you may be required to provide further information to support your application or contact a relevant third-party, such as an NGO, organization, or volunteers. The eligibility criteria may differ based on the type of membership you choose. WEC has the sole discretion, acting reasonably, to accept or reject any membership application. Once your application is accepted, membership will not start until you complete all required registration requirements, including paying any fees, if applicable. Once accepted, membership cannot be transferred.
Each member must act honestly, fairly, and reasonably in all matters connected with the WEC. Without limiting this obligation, each member:
Once membership to the WEC is granted, you are entitled to remain a member until you or the WEC terminates your membership in accordance with this clause.
A member may terminate their membership of the WEC at any time by advising the WEC in writing. If a member breaches the membership terms that the WEC, acting reasonably, considers to be a serious breach, then the WEC may, at their discretion, give the member a warning, suspend the membership for a definite period, or terminate the membership. A serious breach, for example, can include a breach of any requirement specifically listed under Member Obligations, or a breach of Clause 4 (Use of Content).
Your membership may be terminated at any time if the WEC decides to cease operations or a substantial part of operations. In such cases, the WEC may terminate membership by issuing a notice in writing to each current member. Notice may be sent to the member's email provided in the member details or posted to the member's account.
Termination of membership does not entitle the member to a refund of any application fee. Any refund for third-party supplies will be governed by the agreement between the member and the supplier of the third-party supplies.
If you hold a University Staff Membership (as defined in clause 5), and your institution ends its partnership or otherwise ends its subscription, the WEC reserves the right to terminate your membership immediately.
