World Environment Council – 3rd Environment Award Ceremony 2025

The World Environment Council (WEC) is proud to announce the 3rd Edition of the prestigious Environment Civilian Awards, recognizing individuals and leaders who have demonstrated outstanding contributions to environmental sustainability, climate action, eco-innovation, and community-based green initiatives.

Initiated in 2023, these annual awards are among the highest civilian honors in the field of environment, conferred by WEC to acknowledge and celebrate the tireless efforts of changemakers across various sectors. The awards are presented in a grand ceremony by distinguished dignitaries and chief guests from the fields of governance, science, and sustainability.

Environment Civilian Awards – Categories & Degrees of Honour

Paryavaran Bhushan (पर्यावरण भूषण) – 1st Degree of Honour

The highest environment civilian award conferred by the World Environment Council. It is presented to individuals with exceptional and long-standing contributions in any domain directly or indirectly related to environmental protection, climate change, sustainability education, eco-policy advocacy, environmental research, and green innovation.

  • Eligibility: Minimum 20 years of documented work experience in any environment-related field.
  • Who Can Apply: Academicians, researchers, policy-makers, NGO leaders, green entrepreneurs, civil servants, and others making a significant environmental impact globally or nationally.

Paryavaran Shri (पर्यावरण श्री) – 2nd Degree of Honour

The second-highest civilian recognition by WEC. This award honors individuals who have delivered excellence in practice, innovation, education, or public service in areas such as environmental science, eco-entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, green technology, environmental health, climate resilience, pollution control, waste management, and more.

  • Eligibility: Minimum 10 years of significant work experience in any field contributing to environmental sustainability.
  • Open to: Academicians, researchers, policy-makers, NGO leaders, green entrepreneurs, civil servants, and others making a significant environmental impact globally or nationally.
